Vinous Anne Krebiehl 97/100p: The 2023 Riesling Westhofener Brünnenhäuschen Grosses Gewächs neighbors the Morstein to the east, with a touch of more iron oxide in the topsoil. Tender savory notions on the nose suggest some green apple peel, a peppery touch of watercress and lemony coolness. The comes with fine-boned substance, chalky depth and cool, almost breezy, slightly saline freshness. We are very far from any ocean here, but this is salty like an ocean breeze, almost like an oyster shell. It's beautifully saline and maritime in its entire character.
